-I get asked a lot about what I'm yelling when I play. I don't usually say, but in this piece it was really important to feel everything as much as possible. I yelled this part all 100 rehearsals before the Germany performance.
-There is one chop in this that I totally got from Thomas Lang, I almost NEVER use someone elses' ideas intentionally. Seriously. But I will always admit when I do and there is a tom cross-over I saw him do when I was a kid that made it into my drum vocabulary early on and snuck its way into the solo. I'd like to take this time to say that he was one of my biggest influences growing up and I got the chance to meet him a few minutes after I played the Guitar Center 2012 drum off solo and he had some really nice things to say to me long before anyone knew who I was. I really do think that was a pivotal moment in my career, because I use to watch his videos and think "I'll never be able to play anything like that," and so him coming up and being so encouraging was not only surreal at the time but also made me think this (drumming) was something I might actually be good at and that I might be able to do it professionally one day. Thank you Thomas.

And you never know
when it'll be
the very last time
you see them.

Literally the only issue I found in that album is that there seems to be a typo in the first track’s title, which went from “Copper Wasp” to “Cooper Wasp” between the EP and that release. 🙃 Alice M.

Heavy mile-a-minute Prog Metal normally isn't my thing, but these guys shred with surprising finesse, showing a healthy appreciation for nuance and melody underneath all the muscle and testosterone. neu-mann
